Announcements & News

🎓🏀 Congratulations to Amber Furtado – 2025 Joe Stone Scholarship Recipient!

We are proud to announce Amber Furtado as this year’s recipient of the Joe Stone Scholarship!

Amber truly exemplifies the spirit of this scholarship — a well-rounded student who excels in academics, service, and athletics. Her dedication to the community is unmatched: she has volunteered in multiple Parks and Recreation programs, such as a Staff-in-Training (SIT) for the After School Clubhouse, running the clock at the Hoop Classic, and as a passionate leader as the Head of the Honors Board at her school!

Amber has also shown incredible heart working with Unified Arts and Special Olympics Basketball, practicing with the athletes every Sunday and cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm.

This fall, Amber will continue both her academic and athletic journey at Goldey-Beacom College, where she plans to keep serving others while playing the sport she loves.
